Please please give us a fun/beautiful bridge. Perhaps we could have a competition to design a bridge which has character and visual appeal and relates to the history of Hamilton. I love the helix/DNA stainless steel bridge in Singapore and many of the bridges in Kuala Lumpur. I know we have a cost limit but lets have some beauty and fun please!
I am very much in favour of paying for parking at Hamilton Gardens. People have the choice of using transport other than cars such as bikes, scooters or busses. Or they could park further away. I think this is a perfect solution for gaining some revenue for the gardens without having an entrance fee. I also think tour buses should pay an entrance fee.
We’re proposing to balance our books in 2024/25 and reset our debt-to-revenue ratio to 300% for 2021/22 then decreasing by 5% each year until 2025/26 where we will remain at 280% from 2026/27 to 2030/31. Rates are proposed to increase by an average of 8.9% in 2021/22 and 4.9% annually until 2030/31.
We have lots of other projects included in our Long-Term Plan. We want to hear you views on any of them.
I live in Rototuna and would love to have more parks without sports fields. We have enough already plus school fields which can be used for sport. Some wild areas for preschool fun and some restful places for elderly people please. Overseas parks would be a good place to research what is possible. The after work traffic across Pukete Bridge and other hot spots make traffic movement in and around Rototuna into a nightmare. I worry that it will only get worse with all the new building going on between here and Kay Road. I doubt that the new expressway will improve this issue. Please do something to improve this problem which adversely effects quality of like for the residents here.
