We need to focus here not on roads. Developing the city to have more environmentally friendly transport options that can be easily accessed is more important than ensuring cars are safe on the roads. We need to look after our environment first and foremost.
I would actually say don't do it at all however this isn't an option? Is this really a forum for public voice?
Prioritise the arts as important with the current grant scheme. People are struggling to live in Hamilton as it is therefore increasing rates for some families may drive them to have less food on their tables as moving out of hamilton is difficult for income.
Parking is difficult as it is and charging people will only stop a few people who only have one place to go to in the morning. People that commute anyway and do multiple drop offs are still doing there part for the environment by sharing a car but will still need to pay?
By not charging makes the gardens easy and accessible. This is a cheap and free option for families as it is. Seems like spending money for no reason.
Environment needs fast action not slow action.
We’re proposing to balance our books in 2024/25 and reset our debt-to-revenue ratio to 300% for 2021/22 then decreasing by 5% each year until 2025/26 where we will remain at 280% from 2026/27 to 2030/31. Rates are proposed to increase by an average of 8.9% in 2021/22 and 4.9% annually until 2030/31.
This is going to make budgets tighter for the average family in the city.
We have lots of other projects included in our Long-Term Plan. We want to hear you views on any of them.
Need more options for the community engagement. 2 options isn't allowing people to truly have there say. Decisions seems to already have been made.
