NO!! the cycling/scooting/skating have been well served over the past few years......... I am mindful of troublesome/disenfranchised youth BUT infrastructure within this city which is growing exponentially is MUCH MORE IMPORTANT........ We cannot develop into an Auck/Wgtn/Chch/Dunedin with their problems. We need to keep ahead of catastrophe......... And QUIT all this patronising to change the city and street names to the maori language. It is NOT as if we have not been bicultural since the inception of the city. Disgracing the soldiers names is not helpful OR reliable............. Make Kirikiriroa a suburb by all means......... to where the marae was sited.
Because of the stretching city boundaries, and safety required we have no option but upgrade this intersection
IF there is an indication of the increased use of the library services......... Not as a 'nice thing to do'. Has the present library found to be inadequate?
And in case I don't get a chance elsewhere to remark....... HAMILTON GARDENS: Either charge for parking OR significantly charge for out of town visitors to the gardens. There is too much investment in the (worldwide) unique facility to continue to extend it as a free visit.
Added access to the Hamilton gardens/other parts of the city....... I can't see it being a commuter service to the central city. (= too slow/ wash of the waves COULD erode the river banks)
AS stated earlier. More significant charging.......... to the gardens entry for non residents. Make the gardens SELF FUNDING.
We’re proposing to balance our books in 2024/25 and reset our debt-to-revenue ratio to 300% for 2021/22 then decreasing by 5% each year until 2025/26 where we will remain at 280% from 2026/27 to 2030/31. Rates are proposed to increase by an average of 8.9% in 2021/22 and 4.9% annually until 2030/31.
Does the rate increase NEED TO BE so substantial? Present retirees have no more money available and a significant number of us worked PRE KIWISAVER. The rebate scheme will become too burdensome to sustain if we continue to raise rates.
We have lots of other projects included in our Long-Term Plan. We want to hear you views on any of them.
The above are the most important and relevant.......... We are not living in a 'nice to have' era...........
