We’re proposing to balance our books in 2024/25 and reset our debt-to-revenue ratio to 300% for 2021/22 then decreasing by 5% each year until 2025/26 where we will remain at 280% from 2026/27 to 2030/31. Rates are proposed to increase by an average of 8.9% in 2021/22 and 4.9% annually until 2030/31.
We have lots of other projects included in our Long-Term Plan. We want to hear you views on any of them.
After the first COVID -19 lockdown and when we all started going back to works. I noticed there’s a huge traffic flow specially in the Cobham drive towards Hillcrest and on the way back in the evening. With coming up of new roundabout near Dixon road and new subdivision of Peacocks there is a chance of more traffic coming in and out of the city during those peak hours to those regions that these roads pass by. I would like suggest few things, if possible could bring up more buses that runs within the city as well as other places like Te awamatu, Cambridge, Rotutuna, Te Rapa, and other places in close proximity to the city. By more buses what I really meant , if we can provide buses that within 10-20 minutes gap to mostly all the places we can reduce the rush.As a working person, when I look for a bus to where ever I want to go either I will be reaching at least an hour early or late to the actual time I have to be there. It will be much easier to get around as we don’t have to look for free car parkings and all the stuff. Hope you can keep these points while you make a plan out of it.
